How to Get Ready for Next Year’s Wimbledon Tournament

The UK has a thriving sporting tradition that sits a level above the rest. From horse racing to tennis – there are so many different opportunities to dress up and to have a lovely day out. You don’t even need to be a fan of the sport to enjoy a day out at an event like Wimbledon. In fact, you don’t even need to go to the match itself. Wimbledon is a great time to get out to the parks and fan zones dressed up and enjoy a picnic while the tournament goes on.

Wimbledon fever is well known and notorious, and to get into the spirit of the sport for the next tournament you are going to want to prepare a few things in advance:

Dress to Impress

Like the races, you’ll want to dress to impress. Royalty often come to view the Wimbledon tournament, which means summer cocktail dresses, heels, and of course, extravagant hats are out in full force. You don’t have to wear the biggest names in fashion, but so long as you’re ready for a summer tea party, you’ll be good to go.

Wimbledon is an excuse to dress up, yes, but it’s a fun excuse, and you can easily dress down your Wimbledon-wear if you feel more comfortable. If you have tickets to the actual match, however, then you will want to go the full nine yards.

Materials to Stay Cool in Summer

When choosing items to wear, you will want to be smart. A fancy dress is great for photos – but you need to anticipate the weather. Having two outfits is a good choice. One if it is sunny and hot, the other if the typical British weather has taken a turn for the worst. If it is hot, you will want your clothes to be made of cool materials like linen or cotton, so that sweat gets wicked away.

What to Pack With You

If you don’t have tickets then you’ll be going for a good old fashion picnic in the park or fan zone. You’ll want to have a few items with you to make the day special with you and your friends. Put together a great picnic, bring a bottle of Prosecco, and don’t forget some entertainment. If you aren’t near a fan zone, you’ll also want either a radio or a phone with unlimited data so you can livestream the event.

How to Enjoy Wimbledon Even More

If you truly want to enjoy Wimbledon then you are going to want to actually follow the games and the tournament. If you aren’t much of a sports person there is a very easy way to do this: bet on the games. A small bet can help you keep your interest on the game. Even if you don’t know how to bet on tennis or anything about tennis, a small introduction is all you will need. In turn, you’ll truly catch Wimbledon fever as you enjoy a day out with your friends.

Wimbledon is a cultural event that you don’t want to miss out on. It’s fun to get excited, and with the tips in this guide, you can amplify that excitement and really catch Wimbledon fever year after year.
