6 Ways to Relieve Stress in an Hour Or Less

Stress is a sneaky thing that can attack you when you are unprepared. It comes unannounced and can take forever to go away. All it takes is a few moments for you to stress out, but it can ruin your entire day. For some, the stress can cause other side effects like headaches, vomiting and panic attacks as well.
A simple way to deal with stress is by letting your mind and body reset. Whether it involves taking a nap, eating a snack, or listening to some music, you need to step back from the hustle for some time.
When you are alone, you can take a nap, but you can’t do that when you are in public. You need to know some other counter-treatments that can help you calm your nerves. There are a few tips that can help you de-stress quickly, have a look.
1. Herbal Remedies
Several supplements can help reduce your anxiety and stress. However, some of these supplements can take a few weeks or months before they begin to affect you. A better solution in these circumstances would be to try herbal remedies. For that, herbal tea can be therapeutic. Herbal tea can take at least an hour to start showing its effects. Some people use essential oils as they can calm your nerves. An example of such medicinal plants is cannabis. It is a proven remedy for anxiety and its related symptoms. 2. Chew Gum
Repetitive tasks are known as stress relievers. You may have noticed that some people start biting their nails when they are stressed. Some people bite their lips when they feel anxious. It is an excellent stress reliever.

3. Go Out For a Walk
Don’t just sit in your chair and wait for the stress to go away. Get up and go outside to get some fresh air. Going for a walk can clear your mind and distract you. Walking is a type of exercise, and exercise is known to relieve stress.
Walking lets you escape the situation, and the body movement helps your body release endorphins that make you feel better. Walking is very much like a moving meditation. When you walk for a few minutes, you will be able to forget previous tension so you can return back to your life with a calmer approach.
4. Take a Hot Bath
If you cannot do anything else, wash away your day’s stress with hot water. Hot water also releases endorphins and increases your body’s blood flow. Warm baths improve breathing, lower blood pressure, and burn calories.
People who have chronic pain, or experience any backache or headache because of stress, hot baths can help keep their muscles loose. Taking a hot bath is also a kind of water therapy. Water is known to soothe your muscles and calm your nerves. That is why you feel fresh after swimming.
5. Clean Your Room
If your room is messy, it is the perfect opportunity to clean it up as it will be a great therapy as well. If you already keep your room neat and clean, there is always something in the room that you can organize. You can organize your closet or drawers. If you are at work, organize your work desk. There is a strange sense of satisfaction and accomplishment you feel when you de-clutter the mess in your room.
6. Emotional Freedom Technique
The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) involves tapping or psychological acupressure. It is a methodic sequence where you tap the meridian points of your body (areas where energy flows through). After that, recite reciting setup phrases to help you acknowledge your problems and situation. For example, you can create a phrase about how you cannot control your problems, but you still accept yourself, and it will work out in the end.
