Breast Tape: The Beginner’s Guide

Finding the right bra for some outfits may be a heck of trouble. If you eventually do find one, it may make you uncomfortable and not offer enough support.

Some other times, dressing for certain parties or events which may involve the whole of the body of a woman may cause a worry about the kind of underwear to put on. Going braless may be an option to consider. However, this may make the nipples appear visible on the clothes, which can be relatively irritating and uncomfortable. Another possible problem could be the “falling off the breast on the chest,” resulting from insufficient support. This is where breast tape comes in.

What are breast tapes?

Basically, breast tapes are designed to perform every function of a bra, such as holding the breasts in place and giving it a perky look. It can also do more as it can stay hidden and be comfortable.

Breast tapes, as the name suggests, are a strip of clothing with adhesives designed to keep the breasts fixed at a particular place. It could also be used to push the breasts together for a more pronounced cleavage to hold them shaped and lifted. With the trend of strapless and backless tops, breast tapes are becoming more common. As such, there are different types of breast tapes, with each having its distinct features.

Guide to using a breast tape;

If you’re new to this idea of breast tape and you want to give it a try. Here are a couple of things to consider;

  1. Patch test;

BoobHold recommends that performing a patch test before using the tape is necessary to avoid painful rash or itchy skin when pulling off the tape at the end of the day. That’s how Boobhold breast tape reaches you.

When performing the test, there are two spots to use to test the tape on the skin. That’s the inner arm or less sensitive part of the body. Apply the tape to the skin and leave the tape for as long as possible. Then you remove it and check for itchiness, redness, or inflammation. If any of these appear, avoid the tape or look for a milder tape. For sensitive skins, it is okay to notice some redness after the removal of the tape.

  1. Clean and dry skin;

Before the tape is applied to the skin or the breasts, it is necessary to clean the skin surface and dry it properly. This allows the tape to stick properly to the skin.

A wet or oily skin would prevent the tape from sticking when it comes in contact with the skin.

  1. Moderate taping;

When using the breast tape, it is vital to apply the tape moderately. You don’t want to have it too tight or too loose.

Having the tape too tight can restrict blood flow, cause inability to breathe, or irritate the skin, or make the skin stiff and uncomfortable. Conversely, applying the tape too loose may not give the support it is intended for.

  1. Nipple covers;

It is a good idea to use nipple covers before applying the tape. This gives the so highly sensitive nipple area protection, and it also reduces imitation.

  1. Removing the tape;

Taking off a breast tape is to be done carefully. You don’t want to experience the pain that comes with yanking off a band-aid from the skin. Fundamentally, BoobHold recommends two ways to get the breast tape off the skin. The first is to take a hot bath. This will loosen the adhesive and make the tape easier to remove because of the hot water.

The other way is by applying oil. To do this, the corner of the tape should be lifted slowly and the oil applied underneath. This reduces the effect of the adhesives and makes it easy to pull them off.
