Fall is almost upon us which means that our skin is likely going to start to suffer, especially if you live in states where the weather can get cold very fast so we’ve put together some of our favorite beauty tips and tricks to ensure that you still have that summer glow in the fall and all the way through to winter.

Stay Hydrated

Have you ever noticed that Latin American women always seem to have healthy and glowing skin no matter what time of year it is? One of the main things they attribute this to is staying well hydrated, says Camila De Cordova, beauty expert at Reviewbox. “During the summer water will do just fine, but, in the fall months switch it out for plenty of hot water and lemon. Try your best to ditch the caffeine as this will make you look tired and also dehydrate the skin” she says.

Exfoliation

Our skin has a tendency to dry out, especially when it gets colder and has been subjected to the harsher elements. We suggest upping your exfoliation routine during the fall and exfoliating every other day. This helps to scrub away the dead skin cells and keep you looking fresh. Using a gentle exfoliant like Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant will make your skin look shinier, healthier and can even feel a little perkier.

Get Some Shut-Eye

I can’t stress enough the importance of sleep, especially as we transition into the winter months. Our bodies naturally crave more rest in the fall and winter so that we can be ready for next spring. So, listen to your body – the skin actually rejuvenates itself whilst you’re asleep and will work wonders on your overall complexion, natural glow and

Use Sun Protection

Even in the fall, the sun can emit harmful UV rays, and, despite it feeling colder, it can still damage your skin. You should wear sunscreen with a high SPF every single day. It’ll also help keep your face hydrated and stop it from drying out.

Treat Your Hands and Feet

We’ve spoken a lot about facial skincare in this article, but you also need to ensure that you’re looking after your hands and feet during the fall too. Using a hand cream on the daily will help them from drying out. If you already suffer from dry hands, Womens Health Mag strongly recommends you use a hand cream that contains glycerin to help restore the moisture in your hands. You can then use products such as shea butter to help lock that moisture in.

For your tootsies, make sure you give yourself a regular pedicure that includes a nice scrub and includes a mask afterward to lock in the moisture, you can even use natural alternatives to store-bought products such as avocados and even coconut oil, it works wonders. If you’re doing things on a budget, you can even make your own peppermint scrub – check out the recipe here
