How to identify real gold?

Method 1: Identification of electronic gold detector
The gold detector is a high-precision instrument for detecting the purity of precious metals such as pure gold, K gold, platinum, palladium, silver, etc. There are densitometry and fluorescence spectrometry.
The density method is to use the Archimedes principle to determine whether the density of the unknown metal substance matches the fixed thickness of the precious metal in the natural world, to determine the type of the strange metal preliminarily.
The fluorescence spectrometer is also called XRF. The analysis method of the device is an X-ray detector with a specific energy resolution to simultaneously detect various energy characteristic X-rays emitted by the sample, the amplitude of the detector output signal and the received X-ray. The power is proportional to the energy level, and intensity of the detector output signal using an energy spectrometer, and the sample is quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed.
Method 2: Touchstone test
The touchstone comparison method uses the gold medal of the determined color and the sample to be ground on the touchstone, and the color of the sample can be determined by comparing the color left by the grinding track.
Method 3: Nitric acid test method
Nitric acid testing is an excellent way to tell the gold from the fake. However, because the nitric acid used in this test is not easy to obtain, it is dangerous to do such a test at home. If using this method, it needs to pay attention to safety!
1. Put the gold in a small stainless steel container.
2. Drop a drop of nitric acid on the gold and observe the reaction. If the acid is green, then the gold necklace with name is either made of ordinary metal or gold plated. If the acid is golden, it is gold-plated copper. If the acid at the drop is milky, it is gold-plated silver. If there is no reaction at the acid drop, then this piece of gold is real.
Method 4: Scraper disc method
This is an excellent way to show the actual color of the gold, but your gold may get scratched.
1. Find an unglazed porcelain plate. If you don’t have one, you can go to the store and buy porcelain.
2. Use the gold to scrape the porcelain plate. If the black scratches are left on the porcelain plate, your gold is not real gold. If the scratch is gold, it is real gold.
Method 5: Magnet attraction method
Use a magnet to attract gold. Gold is not a magnetic metal, but magnets can attract iron, cobalt, and nickel. If gold is mixed with a certain amount of these three metals, it can be attracted by magnets. But not being able to hold it does not mean it is pure gold custom name rings. Method 1: Look at the color
The higher the purity of gold after smelting, the brighter and more in-depth the color will be. Generally, when the gold content is more top than 95%, it can reflect the vibrant gold color. The pure gold with a gold content of 90%-95%, the color will be a little reddish yellow, and the brightness will be reduced. The pure gold with a gold content of 80%-85%, the light yellow will have a feeling of blue and yellow. Pure gold with 65%-70% of gold, there will be visible white light in the bluish yellow. Pure gold with 50%-60% of gold is only a pale yellow. If the purity does not reach 50%, the whole body will be white.
Method 2: Tooth bite method
The bite of gold is testing the hardness of gold. This method can filter some gold with low purity. Pure gold has a low hardness and will leave a tooth print if bitten with a tooth. Therefore, when identifying pure gold, you can try its hardness. If the hardness is too high, it cannot be pure gold (Except for 3D solid gold). This simple and effective method is generally not recommended as it may cause damage to the teeth. Also, because lead is softer than gold, there will be bit marks on the gold-plated point, causing identification errors.
1. First, bite the gold properly.
2. See if there are bite marks on the gold. In theory, the bite marks will be left after the real gold is bitten. The deeper the bite marks, the higher the purity of gold.
