Pain management with traditional medical treatments is only partially effective because it provides some temporary relief. The treatment does not address the root causes of pain but only suppresses it for some time. People are now looking for better alternatives in pain management that are more effective and long-lasting for which Pilates provide much hope. People are now crowding at physical therapy centers or at the Pilates studio franchises to find long-term pain alleviating solutions that help them enjoy life once again. Countless people are avid Pilates fans because of its health benefits besides ensuring perfect fitness at any age.
Pilates is highly effective in pain management because it addresses the underlying structural imbalances of the body that results in back pain. When the spine is unable to provide proper support to the body, it causes back pain which is most common. Back health depends on several factors and can happen due to pelvic instability, lack of core support, poor posture, muscular imbalances and lack of awareness about the body.

The spine should be able to bend, twist and turn at the call of the body for which it requires the protective support of the core muscles like the back muscles and abdominal muscles that must work in close coordination to one another. When the spine receives good support and remains flexible, it makes the body movements flexible too.
